Evaluation of Risk Factors and Outcomes after Redo-CABG

Abstract

Background and objectives: Heart diseases will be reckoned the most prevalent reasons of death in the most countries especially in Iran. Among the heart disease chronic atrosclorotic disease is one of the most prevalent diseases. Now, it is about the half century that medical science deals with to collate with this disease. The aim of this research is to study the Redo CABG clinically in Shahid Rajaei heart hospital in Tehran. Materials and Methods: This study is done by referring to patients' charts who have been undergone Redo CABG in Shahid Rajaei heart hospital in Tehran from 1999 to 2002. It is considered the descriptive study which has been done on 72 patients. The information has been collected from the questionnaire which consists demographic data, risk factors, indications for Redo operation, decreased of ejection fraction, mortality and morbidity. The statistical analysis is based on the SPSS software and has been done through descriptive statistical method. Results: The prevalence of 1.72% Redo CABG, reducing EF (Ejection Fraction) between two operation, stable angina as the most prevalent clinical signs, percent of risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, short interval between two operations in our country in comparison to the other creditable centers in the others countries, increasing morbidity Preoperative and improving of considerable athrosclorosis in native vessels and implanted grafts, are the finding of this study. Conclusion: It is reckoned to make really the especial centers and efficient human force training to do Redo CABG regarding to increasing morbidity and raising the age of patients and increasing risk factors are reasonable suggestions in the last years. So, in the future the number of these operations will be increased which need to being done wider study and making ready the more hospitals, which manage these patients.
